What ever happened to actor Russell Wiggins?

In 1983, Russell joined the L.A. County Sheriffs Department. After training, he assigned to Peter Pitchess Honor Rancho (Wayside) working Minimum Compound on graveyard shift. After working custody, he was assigned to Altadena Sheriffs Station. He was offered a role in the movie "Nightfall" and took a leave of absence from the Sheriffs Dept.. After filming, he tried to come back to the Sheriffs Dept but was told it would depend on the Sargent who took his leave request. The Sgt said no and he wasn't allowed to come back. One night, after working shift at Malibu Station, on was on my way home, down the 210 frwy towards Sylmar. Russ was going the same way and flagged me down. He told what had happened and was currently working security at Hughes. This was around '87. That was the last time I saw Russ.
