Answer Queen Elizabeth I of England was born on 7th September 1533. She became Queen of England on 17th November 1558 and reigned until her death on 24th March 1603. Queen Elizabeth II is the present monarch of the Commonwealth Realms. She was born on 21st April 1926 and became Queen on 6th February 1952. Queen Elizabeth I of England was a Tudor and Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom Of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, is a Windsor. While Elizabeth I had nothing but English blood in her veins, Elizabeth II has mainly German blood and hardly a drop of English blood. Elizabeth I reigned during a time when English monarchs had absolute power and Elizabeth II is a consitutional monarch, having hardly any power at all. Elizabeth I was far more outspoken and daring than Eizabeth II has been during her reign. While Elizabeth II married and produced heirs, Elizabeth I never did. Elizabeth I was queen of only England and Ireland, whereas Elizabeth II is Queen of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica and many other countries.

Both Elizabeth I and Elizabeth II were twenty-five when they became queen. Neither was expected to become queen, both were originally third in line for the throne. Both queens took an immense interest in horses and the arts. Elizabeth I had a brother-inlaw named Philip and Elizabeth II's husband's name is Philip. Neither had a full-blooded brother, Elizabeth I had a half-brother and Elizabeth II has no brother.

Apart from the fact they share the same Regnal Name, the two women share a strong sense of duty to God and to their subjects. Both are Protestants, both ascended the throne in their 20's after a period of great controversy.

Elizabeth 1 was accused of treason against her sister Mary 1. She was born into a world where the King, her father, relinquished Papal authority, divorced his wife, and married Elizabeth's mother (Anne Boleyn).

Elizabeth II witnessed first hand a time that can be best described as the biggest constitutional crisis in the history of Britain - and once again dealing with marriage - the abdication of her uncle Edward VIII to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson thereby putting her father on the throne and making her Heir Presumptive.

Both Elizabeth's witnessed times of war that affected them personally. There are so many other parallels one could draw from the lives of these two Monarchs

Queen Elizabeth I was not actually related to Queen Elizabeth II directly. Queen Elizabeth I had no children, and was succeeded by King James of Scotland, who became King James I of England. There is no blood relation between the two Queens Elizabeth.
