Jessica:My formerly best friend, Marta Holloway called me a liar at recess today! I hate that! On account of I WAS lying and she was only saying the truth. Do you remember all those times grown-ups would tell you to not to lie, but then turn around and tell something like... 'when it comes down to protecting someone... telling a lie is really not all that bad'? Well! I WAS protecting someone... me! Yes I was late... and I left the note from Mr. Doctor on the front seat of the car. Yes I talked too long to my Mommy because I didn't want to go to school and missed snack time. Yes I made up the fib I was late on account of the bully on the playground. Yes there was nobody on the playground. But that is no reason for Marta Holloway to open her big mouth and tattle on me just to make me get in trouble. What did I do to her? Other than told all my friends to not to vote for her to bring in snack… because her mom taked us to the grocery store 2 days ago tomorrow and I got cookies that I want to bring in first! If she had brung them first, people would have not wanted mine! Anyway, now I have to bring in 2 notes tomorrow! And I'm not ever going to talk to Marta Holloway again.

If you go to your library they might have the book Encore More Winning Monologues for Young Actors which is really good and has monologues for boys and girls. Another thing you can do is go to Google and search Bald is Beautiful by Peg Kehret free which will take you to a blog that has the entire monologue on it. Hope this helped!
