Steve Irwin was an advocate for the safely and welfare of animals all over the world. He worked hard to educate the world about animals and how to handle them safely if ever encountered. He won numerous awards over the years and passed his knowledge on to his daughter, Bindi, who works to keep his legacy alive.

He discovered a new species of turtle- that was then named after him called the Elseya Irwini turtle.

Apart from this Irwin received many awards including shortly after his death as a memorial the rwandad government announced that they were naming there new baby Gorrilla after him! small but pretty cool because they aren't even Australian and they still a very respectful to him
