Who was Heinz Guiderian?

Heinz Guiderian was a German general during WWII. He was widely considered one of the foremost (if the not THE foremost) authorities on tank warfare at the outset of the war. He was largely, but by no means wholly responsible for the development of "blitzgrieg" tactics involving repeated flanking manuevers of massed armored units. He was twice relieved of command by Hitler, owing to his bluntness in expressing frustration at Hitler's tactical errors. The first when he predicted the failure to take Moscow by Christmas 1941 meant Germany had lost the war, and later following the battle of the bulge when Hitler relieved him as chief of the General Staff owing to "health issues." Following the war the US secreted him into the states to debrief on tank warfare tactics.

What films was Robert Shaw in?

Robert Shaw was probably most famous for his role in "Jaws". Shaw portrayed the character "Quint" a WWII veteran, and seasoned fisherman, and shark hunter. Shaw's famous monologue of surviving the US Indianapolis, is notable in itself. His performance in Jaws, won him many new roles such as, the role of Romer Treece in "The Deep". He played the role of an Israeli Zionist who agreed to help the CIA, stop the bombing of the Superbowl by PLO extremists, in "Black Sunday". He starred along side James Earl Jones, as the sexy, sword slaying Pirate, Ned Lynch in "Swashbuckler". Also, he played along side an old actor friend, Sean Connery, as the Sheriff of Nottingham in "Robin and Marion". His last two films, prior to his untimely death were Alistar MacLean's "Force 10 From Navarone" (with an all star cast), and "Avalanche Express". Earlier films include; Doyle Lonnegan, the compulsive gambler star of "The Sting". He gave one of his more noted performances in the original 'The Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three", starring as "Blue or Bernard Ryder" opposite of the late Walter Matthau, and Martin Balsam. He starred in "A Reflection of Fear" with Sally Kellerman, and his second late wife, Mary Ure, in 1973. His performance in "Young Winston"where he played Winston Churchill's father, is by far, underrated. He also starred in Harold Pinter's "The Birthday Party", and gave a haunting and compelling performance. In 1967, he played a convincing General Custer in "Custer of the West", and his performance in "A Man for All Seasons" as King Henry VIII, in 1966, won him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting role. He also appeared in "Battle of the Bulge", starred in "The Luck of Ginger Coffey", "Tomorrow at Ten", and appeared in "From Russia with Love". His first film appearance was an uncredited role in the famous "The Lavender Hill Mob", in 1955. Robert Shaw, a graduate of RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.) was a gifted stage and film actor, who also excelled as a Play writer. His most famous Play was "Man in the Glass Booth". He termed himself as a "character actor" early on in his career, while adding "character actors do not become movie stars". Ironically, Shaw's performance in Jaws brought him fame, and fortune at a late age in life. His career began to take on new heights of fame, and made him one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood. Sadly, this new image lasted but a few years as Shaw was taken by a fatal heart attack, just after his 51st birthday, in August of 1978.
