There are no requirements of what Pokemon you need, but I suggest that you use the strongest Pokemon you can find,for example, a boss Pokemon, as they have power levels that usually are higher than normal Pokemon, and also be sure to use Pokemon with special traits too, for more power. The power levels of the Pokemon you select should also be high, For me, I suggest you befriend Pokemon with power levels of 1800 - 2000 and if you do, the chances of beating dark rust will be really high. Here's another trick, be sure to have short and long range attacks too, and use them wisely when you need them. When you are battling dark rust, also make sure to look out for your health bar, other rust Pokemon and also dark rust's spin attack, ( Run when your attacks keeps missing and he keeps shaking. ) avoid it when it happens.
