Most of the cheats do not work in Sonic Classic Collection, but a few still do.
Sonic 1
- Level Select: At the title screen, press Up, Down, Left, Right (ring chime will sound), hold Y and press Start.
Sonic 2
- Change Tails to Miles: Press Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Up, on the title screen.
Sonic & Knuckles
- Sonic & Knuckles Level Select: In Mushroom Hill Zone, grab a pulley and press Left, Left, Left, Right, Right, Right, Up, Up, and Up (ring chime will sound). Then, purposely get a game over. At the title screen, hold Y and press Start.
Knuckles in Sonic 2:
- Knuckles in Sonic 2 Level Select: At the title screen, press Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right (ring chime will sound), hold Y and press Start.

If you want more than just the classic Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Mega Collection for PS2 and Gamecube has many classic Sega Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog games. These include: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3D Blast, Dr, Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Tetris style gameplay), and Sonic Spinball
