Kalifee (sp?) the heated fire of Spock's sexual cycle for copulation. His biological clock sends him home to his wife who then uses a Vulcan rite to bring challenge for the friends, Kirk and Spock. They spar (to the death) but Bones injects Kirk with a supposed blood thinner (?) which instead feigns vital death to Kirk.

One of my favorite episodes because of Spock's reaction to finding his friend and Captain still alive on board the Enterprise. I think it was the only episode to show Spock with a smile. The best.

Music for Kalifee...Ravel's Bolero.

4/20/16 EDIT: That is INCORRECT. Here is Bolero:

And here is the music from the "Amok Time" battle: "The Ritual / Ancient Battle / 2nd Kroykah," written by Gerald Fried:

There are some similarities, but they're very different.

Absolutely, but not the entire song. It was in the episode where Kirk has to fight for his life and the life of the crew when fighting the Thralls who wear "dog collars" to control them.
