Judge Eric Solem was a judge in Tana in the north of Norway. He is also known as a sociologist, for his studies of law and culture of the Reindeer-Sami people of Finland. He also served as Supreme Court Justice from 1938-1948, excluding the war years. There is a reference to his being in a concentration camp during the war, but nothing said of his religion.
