Yes, it counts as science fiction. Set in the future, post-apocalyptic. That's not the definition of scifi - it's hard to have an exact definition - but those elements put it safely within the bounds of it.
It's an original . There so many action , Fantasy , Scifi , Romance involved . It;s Plot is so connected in a way , you cannot watch one episode with out seeing another to understand it .
There are many Camp Half Blood literary camps all over the united states, and there is one that I've found in PA. If you search 'St. Vincent Challenge Camp Half Blood', you'll find the website for a Camp Half Blood about 75 minutes away from Pittsburgh. There are day programs for 1-4 graders and overnight camps for 5-9 graders as well as Harry Potter and Scifi themed camps.
Robert Thompson's Riders of the Spew was his first published novel. It is an action, adventure, Scifi novel. Some very good reading.

There is evidently one at the SciFi hall of fame in Seattle. They used multiple foam dummies in addition to the suit. I'm not sure which is displayed at the SciFi hall of fame.
