I think that depends on the level the 9 year old is at, and if they are able to handle it's content. Personally, at 9 I would have been all right with it, but some 9 year olds may not be.
It does have graphic violence, some sexual situations, and some harsh language. Not to mention dark and morbid topics. So, it's really up to the 9 year old's parents to review and decide.

∙ 10y agoProbably not; it's relatively violent. A woman gets her eye gouged out (though it is not explicitly shown) and people get run through with chainsaws. There are also some sexual references, like when Sebastian has sex with a nun. It's not shown explicitly either, but it's clear what's gioing on.

No. First off, why is your nine year old watching this? It’s made for mature audiences. I’m an 11 year old and overall it has full of sexual themes, and so much more- I would rather let them watch Dragon Ball Z. not black Butler.

I've been looking for a good answer to this question and the only good anime I found (that was appropriate for young people) was Hikaru no Go. I watch alot of anime, and most of it is not appropriate for kids. My top five animes for mature people over 12 would be Full Metal Alchemist and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Fairy Tail, and Soul Eater. None of those are for six year olds. If your looking for anime movies for six year olds, try some of Hyao Miyazaki's movies, such as: Ponyo, Secret World of Arrietty, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Kiki's Delivery Service. Don't show Grave of the Fireflys to a six year old, though.-Rizu
