Ichigo bears a strong resemblance to Ukitake's former Lieutenant Kaien Shiba, in both personality and looks, so my guess would be that he was thinking that Ichigo was from the Shiba family, which is ironic, since they had just left there.

I think it's fair to say that Aizen won against the Captains in Bleach. Considering he cut Captain Hitsugaya in half, scorched Head Captain Yamamoto and, between himself and his Arrancars, killed/maimed/injured pretty much everyone in the fake Karakura Town. Against Ichigo though, I'm pretty sure Ichigo owned him. Well, Mr. Urahara did anyway.

The character of Kurosaki Ichigo, isn't actually a hollow, or even a shinigami for that matter. It was established in the recent arc, during the final battle between Aizen/Hogyokou and Ichigo (in FGT form - Final Getsuga Tensho) that Ichigo had evolved onto a higher level than either distinctions, even higher than Aizen had developed to. However the other characters that know of Ichigo's hollow powers are: - The Vizards - The Captains of Soul Society: Including Byakuya, Kenpachi, Toshiro..etc. - Most of the Lieutenants: Hisagi, Renji, Matsumoto..etc - Urahara and his shop group: Including Yoruichi - Ichigo's group that came to save Rukia with him: Inoue, Chad, Ishida (Rukia) - Obviously Zangetsu and Ichigo Also you could consider characters from the anime fillers: - Kariya and some of the Bount's - Muramasa - Some of the Beast Swords It's also theorised that Isshin Kurosaki, (Ichigo's dad) also knows of Ichigo's hollow tendancies.
