Technically, you don't have to be right handed just to have a hook. Writing hooks and using your right hand does not have to do with anything related to each other. **Actually mainly just left handed people write with a hook, so that they can see what they've written by not having the palm covering it. If right handed people write with a hook, such as myself, it's for some other reason; which is what I'm trying to find out.

A right handed hook shot called the Sky Hook.
Captain Hook must be left-handed, as the original book quotes "...instead of a right hand he had the iron hook with which, ever and anon, he encouraged (his men) to increase their pace."

A hook in golf is a type of shot. When a right handed golfer doesn't hit the ball square and they pull the club in, the ball flies straight but then takes a giant curve to the left. For a left handed golfer, the curve would go right.

Violet Baudelaire, a character from the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" book series, is known for her inventive skills. Some of her creations include a grappling hook made out of household items, a hot air balloon using a large quantity of rubber bands, and a device to break open a window in a hospital room.
