How do you use surf in HeartGold?

To get surf on Pokemon SoulSilver, you need to be in Ecruteak City. You have to go into the dance theater and fight the rocket grunt. One audience member will be amazed by your skills and give you the HM Surf.

To use the HM03 Surf in Pokemon SoulSilver Version, you will first need to acquire the Hidden Machine. You can obtain the HM03 Surf as a reward by the old man inside the Dance Theater in Ecruteak City for saving the theater from Team Rocket. Once you have successfully used the HM on a Pokemon that can learn it, simply move to the side of a body of water and click "A". Follow through the dialogue, and then you will be Surfing.

First, you need a Pokemon with the HM Surf. You also need the right gym badge for this. Then, go to a lake or something. Press A and it will surf. At least to the best of my knowledge. Haven't played it much.

all you do: go to the water you want to surf and it says some thing about the water being dark blue or some thing and then it says do you want to surf on it click yes than your surfnig :D
