To beat the basilisk, you must stand in front of the piles of rocks and when he has his laservision on you right before he head for you, move out of the way, if you did it fast enough, he should hit his head. If they hit the rocks instead of you, he damages himself. After doing this, go to the three piles of rocks, you will have the ingredients needed to make a strength solution which you can use by pulling a lever to the left. After Fawks the Phoenix is released, he will drop a hat on a piller, shoot the basilisk with a spell a couple times and then take Ginny up towards a pipe in the upper left and pull the levers at the same time. Jump in the pipe, hop onto the ledge in the top right and use the accio charm on the sorting hat to bring out the Gryffindors sword, fire a spell at the snakes eyes and make him appear by the statue, then connect both of the chains on the green pipe at top far left and jump in the appear beside the statue, the head towards the blue spot to stab the basilisk and kill it.

You have to keep casting the spell expelliarmus which you test in that duel. It is represented by the red symbol on the spell wheel. Keep casting it at Malfoy until you beat him.
