Once you have located the red brick in a level (Some of which may only be reached in free play mode) go to the store in the Room of Requirement. That's where the game begins anytime you return from not playing, or it can be reached by the menu icon in the lower left-hand corner during gameplay. The store is on the lower level, all the way to the left. Click the red brick icon and purchase the Silly Spell you want for a set number of studs. Now, in game play, click on your character's icon in the upper left-hand corner and a menu of available Silly Spells will become available. Choose one and make the same motion as Reducto/Expelliarmus/Half of Petronus (Or press B while facing that character) against another character to see the spell take effect. If you purchase the last few hints, this is all explained there at 10 studs/sentence. Happy Harry Pottering. And I hope years 5-7 are as cool for the iPad!
