The thing one needs to keep in mind when trying to capture Lumineon is that both of its attacks last for a very long period; the friendship gauge will completely deplete by the time it finishes.

If you're not in a rush to complete the quest, then wait for the charge styler, along with a Pokemon in a later sea area that can use a psychic type poke assist.

On the other hand, if you want to finish it as soon as the quest is available, then you'll have to make due with the water type Pokemon assist, and even then, you won't be using it for its traditional purpose. You'll want two or three corsela for their 20 second assist, and a sharpedo for its 40 second long assist.

You'll want these longer assists for several reasons. One: you don't want to activate the poke assist during the attack, it just wastes time. Two: the method itself is very tedious; you'll want to have as much total time as you can so you can capture it. Losing all Pokemon for the assists means losing your chance to capture it, forcing yourself to flee.

The trick is to fling several small/medium bubbles at Lumineon after it attacks. This prevents the friendship gauge from falling. The moment it ends the attack, you can resume circling Lumineon without having any of the gauge lost.

If you're really skillfull, you can fling the large bubble you've built up while circling it as it begins one of its attacks. However, this all depends on the line placement and direction of attack.
