Tom Selleck's parents owned a summer home in Lake City, MI. Lake City is about 15 minutes from Cadillac and not near Lake Michigan at all - it's centrally located in the northern half of the lower peninsula.

They sold the house years ago. My family went to Lake City for a week each summer in the early 2000's and it was well known that they owned the house but it was for sale and they no longer stayed there. It is a huge house compared to the small summer cottages in the surrounding area. It was brick and had a high brick wall surrounding it - most cottages in the town are stick built and not winterized - his parent's house was definitely built for year round use. Tom was born in 1945, so his parents were likely born around 1920 and would now be in their 90's, if they are still living.

rumor has it that a relative owned an old farmhouse there and he might have spent a few summers there.
