In the Heisei continuity, he appears only in Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla 2, where he does die.
In the Millennium series, he appears only in Godzilla: Final Wars, where he does not die. He is one of only three monsters who fight Godzilla and live in this movie.
In the Legendary series, Rodan appears in Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and he lives in that movie.
