Dodgers player Maury Wills claims to have had an affair with Day but she denies this in her autobiography. I have read this book and as always, Doris is completely frank and honest. She would not have lied about this. She was truthful about her other relationships and it is reasonable that she was truthful about Wills as well. Her guess is that is was a publicity ploy perpertrated by the Dodgers.
