I'd recommend purchasing Minecraft instead of getting it illegally. There are a few cracked versions out there, and I've tested them myself. They're not as fast as the actual Minecraft and don't have many of the features the real Minecraft has... $24.75 for Minecraft at the moment...
I few seconds plus or minus, depending on how fast your computer is. (this does not count for the actual time it takes for minecraft to open, just for it to load, this also does not count if there is an update, then it will take as long as it would for it to update.)
You can press w twice and hold it and it will make you sprint.
This question depends on a couple things. First, it depends on how fast your computer is. Second, it depends on how fast your internet connection is.
As fast as myarse
No I have have bad internet but minecraft works good.

You press W (standard) two times (fast) and hold!
As a matter of fact, it is. I have a Dell Inspiron 15, and the first game I downloaded was MineCraft! There are very fast loading times, and it doesn't freeze. So, yes it is good for MineCraft. Thanks for asking!
Well, I've never played it on my desktop because it is way too slow. But Minecraft runs extremely fast on my Mac.
There is no need for a program. All Minecraft requires is that Java is downloaded and installed, and that your computer is fast enough to run it. If you have these things, than your in the clear.
I recommend a PC-most mods are for PC and not mac and also another word of advice for a picking a computer for Minecraft. Mo RAM mo fast!
