The name Bass is the English version of the name, and is meant to correspond with the robowolf Treble (get it!?). Treble is Bass's version of Megaman's robodog Rush. In Battle Network, Treble is effectively converted into Gospel, as the features are similar and the two team up at the end of MMBN 3 to create the super powerful BassGS, or Bass Gospel Soul.

You'll need to equip collect, and go around different net areas with oilbody, fish, battery, and jungle equipped, to get all the standard chips. Navi chips, obviously can be obtained from Navis, except for Roll chips, which you get from Mayl. Check everywhere you can for a jack-in port, to find net-traders and bugfrag traders. Clean out all the netshops. And, there are some chips (DeltaRayEdge) which require battling in VS. mode to acquire. And that's it.
