Shadow is not a bad guy his intentions of "evil" are only because he believes its what Maria wanted REVENGE! But he learned in sonic adventure 2 that maria's wish was for the world to be happy and for him to help them be happy so in all of his confusion he's actually a good guy he just wasn't aware of his purpose. Whenever you play sonic heroes or shadow the hedgehog both games have shadow not remembering maria's wish and again hopes to give her the revenge she wants. He will never kill sonic because like i said he just doesn't know his purpose and that's why he's bad but when his purpose is to kill sonic then that will happen.
