open the disc tray. then take a can of air with a straw thingy on the end of it. Then blow the aire in to every hole and everything in the disc tray......that always helped for me i thought i was doomed when this happened to me because i putso much work into my ps2 for 5 years but my dad helped me save it .hoped i help good luck :p

PS, the game I had trouble with was super smash bros brawl ------ my wii had the same problem with the same game, but it wouldn't recognise ANY games i put in, and my warrenty expired so i might have 2 get a new one PS. your warrenty still has to be good for Nintendo to fix it for free i believe

That probably happens because you didn't put it in correctly or you need to blow the back to get any dust out .Because if dust clogges it it wont read the data and it will say that there is no game inserted in the game slot .hope this helped!
