Why prestige in mw2?

When you prestige you lose everything besides your emblems, titles, and killstreaks. this allows you to unlock all the kill streaks and when your prestige you can unlock extra emblems and titles. Finally on certain prestige levels you unlock a extra custom class spot. I think there's a total of 10 spots.you also might do it for honor and pride.

im improving the answer i just entered prestige and i hate it sooo much and i want to go back so much so if u already entered it let me know how much you hated it in the beginning because i hated it i had all the guns and i went down to like 2 it may be good for the honor and pride but to me it is not worth it :( im soo pissed i entered it

I feel that prestiege was worth it. I entered prestiege today and i am already a level 24. It all depends on personal prefrence and what guns you like. Many people play with guns such as FAMAS, UMP, and Intervention. These three guns are all available from the beginning of the game. The only thing is. since COD 7 is coming out many people will be playing that instead of MW2. If you plan on playing COD7 perstiege might not be the best idea because if you start your prestiege and then begin playing COD7 you wont have many guns in MW2.

I pondered the same when I reached level 70. I have stayed level 70 all along and I never regret it. It doesn't matter if those people brat about becoming 10th prestige; I just love to slaughter (and slash) those prestiges. My recommendation is: DON'T GO PRESTIGE. Particularly COD7 is coming out very soon; most of us will probably move on to the new game.
