I've had that problem too.I went outside and waited till about 10:00 and then watched the shopping channel all the way through until where he stops so all the way through. Then i went in and called at about 10:00 to 11:00 and it worked. No, You can not. In the GBA Harvest Moon Game(gameboy advanced), you can choose your gender. Unfortunately, they ruled out this feature in Harvest Moon Ds.
