It is not a "wicked" problem, but some do believe that the harvesting of our rainforests is problematic. Harvesting here in the United States is far more regulated and we have more tress and board feet of growing forest today then 100 years ago. This should also have some CO2 mitigating issue that is often ignored. The number one method that CO2 is out into our atmosphere is through rotting vegetation and trees. Structures built from wood do not decompose as quickly and the land can have new trees planted that also exchange CO2 for oxygen.

94% of all CO2 comes from natural sources such as rotting trees. Our oceans are the largest sink for CO2, so while over harvesting is certainly not good, it is hardly wicked.
