There are many reasons why runescape would freeze up.
1: Not enough RAM(random access memory), if this is the case, purchase a new computer or purchase more RAM.
2: Runescape is a Java game; If your Java is out of date this might cause freezes or lag, get the latest Java
3: If you have dial-up and you really want to play runescape, you should get Broadband.
4: To many programs running, close some programs.
