Whenever you drink something, you have to hold your breath. So that's why, after you're done taking a drink, there is that forceful exhalation of air.

As for why it's not just an exhalation, but instead has that very audible hissing sound... I could conjecture that it has something to do with carbonated drinks. There's a sort of burn when you drink them, and maybe the noise on exhale is sort of a slight "ahh" that you might say when you're injured. Perhaps it started with carbonated drinks, and then people started to do it with other sorts of drinks. It does seem to be much more popular after you've taken a drink of something carbonated.

A second explanation for the audible hissing is that it's just one of those weird things we do when we experience pleasure. Like laughter, or any number of other ooh's and aah's and other inexplicable sounds. Hell, some people do a little dance when they eat something tasty.
