It's very likely that your computer does not have enough memory, the right software, or enough video card space to support the game. I know how this feels because my first two computers didn't run the game right either...very frustrating. The Sims 3 website has all the requirements your computer needs for the game if you want to check that out and see. Here's a link: http://www.thesims3.com/game/systemreq If the link doesn't work for some reason, go to Sims3.com, then hover over the tab at the top left that says: The Game, and then click on the second-to-last option that says: System Requirements.
