Misty SHOULD be Ash's girlfriend. Since she made the comment to Ash about what it is going to be like when they get married. It took Ash a few seconds to realize what she had just said and he just gave the old anime "Whaaa?"


During the Silver Conference, Ash comes across a girl named Macy. He Heroically saves her Vulpix from Team Rocket and she instantly falls in love with him. At this, Misty gets really defensive and tells her that Ash is not available, claiming that he needs time to..... "Train!". Their feud continues, and Macy's love for Ash never dies. Coincidentaly, Misty is a Water-Type lover, and Macy is a Fire-Type lover. However she does have a Starmie.



Also during the Battle Frontier, Frontier Brain Anabel, who Ash and the gang all thought was a boy turned out to be a girl. After Ash beat her on his second try, she revealed to the audience that she liked Ash and he didn't know it yet.


Angie is a hot-headed girl who Ash met at a Pokemon Training School. They instantly became rivals, then they became close friends. When they were partnered to collect a medal at the top of a hill in the ruins, they were coerced by a ghostly little girl who was apparently Death's matron, because she wanted to take them back into the soul world forever. While this was happening they battle a powerful Dusknoir who they thought was attacking them, once they knocked the Dusknoir out, the little girl opened the portal and a huge vacuum of suction opened up and Ash held on to Angie's hand while holding her Shinx and Pikachu. He said that he would never let go, even if that meant "Forever". At this Angie's heart seemed to melt and her feelings towards Ash were never the same. She began to blush at certain times, and became embarrassed too. When Ash and the crew went to Solaceon Town to visit Angie at her parent's day-care they had an adventure with a client's Lickylicky. As they departed, Angie's parent's commented that they could leave the day-care to Ash and Angie when they get married. Angie acted intolerably, but her parent's just laughed.



Finally, in Pokemon the Movie V: Pokemon Heroes, a girl named Bianca is entrusted to take care of, and keep secret the Latias and Latios in her garden. At the end of the movie, Bianca runs up to Ash, she does not say a word, and evidently gives him a kiss. Now, Latias has been known to change into human form as Bianca and cannot speak the human language. So it is debatable who it really was, since Ash is the Hero who saved Latias and the city.


May and Dawn I think are too close together, and if Ash chose one over the other I think there would be jealousy. I think Misty is an awesome fit. She is a really awesome gym-leader, Ash's mom loves her, and the Viridian City gym is currently unoccupied so Ash could certainly take over. With Ash, Brock, and Misty all gym leaders, Kanto would be the most difficult region to beat. Plus Ash and Misty would be close together and Pewter City is literally half-way for both of them.
