Lucas is a PSI powered boy from the popular Nintendo series Mother, known as Earthbound in the U.S. Lucas specifically is from the Japan-only game Mother 3. He is thought to be a "twin" of Ness, but in some ways he is different from him, like his PK Fire(side B) or PK Freeze(neutral B).
His moves in Super Smash Bros. Brawl are similar to Ness's. They have the same jump move, as well as similar special moves and Final Smashes. However, their standard fighting moves are very different, as Ness goes for straight punches and uses a Baseball bat and yo-yo. Lucas uses an unpolished stick, and accompanies most of his attacks with a psychic spark. His grab move uses a rubber snake. While Ness's attacks hit quicker, Lucas's attacks are much more powerful (apart from the baseball bat) and are easier to K.O. opponents with.
He has blonde hair (with a kind of quif at the front), and wears a t shirt, shorts and pumps. The colour of these items can be changed on SSBB by clicking on him after choosing him.
I personally think he is a great character to use, though it does take pratice to get used to him.
His specials are:
Neutral B=PK Freeze-A snowflake attack that, if it hits, does damage and puts enemies in an ice block. you can hold it down to release it later and charge it up, and direct it slightly.
Side B=PK Fire-A blast of PSI fire to inflict basic damage to opponents fairly near Lucas. It can be used to ignite Blast Crates.
Down B=PK Magnet-Hold it down, and when enemies fire projectiles (like shots from guns or magic) at Lucas, he absorbs it, and uses it to reduce his damage. It also does slight damage when ended to nearby opponents.
Up B=PK Thunder- A LEGEND MOVE! Releases an electrical wave which can move on its own (controlled by the control stick). You can use it to damage enemies, or you can circle it and fire it into Lucas. Lucas then shoots in the direction it hit him, damaging enemies hit by a huge amount along the way. It can also be used as a recovery move, by firing it into Lucas from below and shooting him upwards.
I hope you learnt something about Lucas. He is a good character to use, and easier to use than Ness.
Good Luck!
