It is not called "Dragon Ball Z Kai". It's just "Dragon Ball Kai". Dragon Ball Kai is an digitally remastered version of Dragon Ball Z with better graphics, audio, new music and new voice actors. Also, Dragon Ball Kai has a different beginning and end than Dragon Ball Z. In addition (or subtraction), they removed about 200 episodes from Dragon Ball Z for Dragon Ball Kai, making a long 300 episode series into a short 100 episode series. To prevent any further complication, here is a list of all the generations of Dragon Ball:Dragon Boy: A short 2 chapter manga based on a book called "Journey to the West". It was Akira Toriyama's original version of Dragon Ball.Dragon Ball: A remake of Dragon Boy. It was originally a weekly comic in the Weekly Shonen Jumpmagazine. It was later turned into a manga. Not only was this version of Dragon Boy much longer but it was also one of the most popular manga ever created. It not only has a manga but it also has an anime.Dragon Ball Z: This manga/anime was originally part of Dragon Ball but they separated it from Dragon Balland renamed it "Dragon Ball Z". This generation is the sequel to Dragon Ball.Dragon Ball GT: This is the sequel to Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball GT has a different animation style than Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball GT is unfortunately the shortest series of all generations and it does not have a manga.Dragon Ball Kai: The digitally remastered version of Dragon Ball Z with a new beginning and an end. They removed a significant amount of episodes as well.Dragonball Evolution: Dragonball Evolution is a live action movie (that is rumored to soon become a series of movies) that is based on Dragon Ball.Dragon Ball AF: Dragon Ball AF is a series created by fans. It was originally an April Fools prank ("AF" probably stands for "April Fools") which involved lying to people about a new generation coming out soon. After people waited too long, they no longer has faith in the rumor. Later, fans of Dragon Ball decided to actually make a manga for Dragon Ball AF.The difference is Kai is a shorter and cleaner verson and remastered in HD
of coarse there is who is the stupid person who ask that question it most be an idiot who dont watch dragon ball z
When will Dragon Ball GT come back on television? With Dragon Ball Z Kai on Nicktoons and The CW's Toonzai, there is a slight chance that Nicktoons or 4Kids may decide to air Dragon Ball GT on their channels and in conjunction to reel in more fans, FUNimation may release the entire series of Dragon Ball GT on blu-ray so they can make more sales. This is the only logical answer since Cartoon Network is focusing on live action shows and it wouldn't make since if Dragon Ball GT went to Disney XD while Dragon Ball Z Kai ( basically Dragon Ball Z) was still running on Nicktoons. FUNimation would also have to revise GT by either using "Remastered" DVD episodes or making a deal with Toei Animation to get a whole new cast for Dragon Ball GT just like Christopher Sabat decided to do with "Kai" when he took out the original voice actors for Bulma and Gohan. A reasonable airtime for GT would most likely have to be either to end of 2011 or early 2012 considering that Dragon Ball Z Kai is only going to have about 99 episodes or more. Even though I am not certain that this will happen, I answered another question regarding what channel Kai would come on and Nicktoons as well as even 4Kids was in one of my answers so I could be right. So after Dragon Ball Z Kai, expect Dragon Ball GT to also return to television. I also have faith that the original Dragon Ball series may return, but there is little chance due to the fact that Dragon Ball Z Kai already explains every event from Dragon Ball, and the fact of the inappropriate scenes "Dragon Ball" displays. Nicktoons is looking to appeal more to young boys as well as 4Kids' hopeful decision to go back to their original roots of anime dubbing. I know many of you state that Adult Swim would be able to air Dragon Ball GT, but first of all, it only shows anime on Saturdays while Nicktoons shows it everyday. Second, GT actually isn't an adult type of show and could possibly be aired on Nicktoons, but most likely will be edited if GT was aired on 4Kids. Disney XD also focuses on Marvel more than Naruto Shippuden, which is also another reason why Dragon Ball GT should not come to Disney XD (Shippuden is also not even advertised on Disney XD).
If you want to buy it, go on Ebay and search Dragon Ball (z) [Kai]. If you're talking about the show, the dragon balls may be found on any planet on which a Namekian sorcerer (has magical powers, like healing, but the most important one being the ability to create dragon balls) lives. In the show the only planets we know that have dragon balls are, Earth (sorcerer being Kame) and planet Namek (sorcerer being The Grand Elder, his name is unknown to all but his father).
