the old rod is located in the pokemon center by the big lake you must talk to an old man therein and well youre there i suggest you heal up your pokemon (i thinks it route 30) because you will challenge a bunch of fishermen if you want the good rod you must go to olivine cit and talk to a man in a house in the center of town good luck :)
