Clue Scroll dig sites vary depending on the clue scroll. You dig up when you are standing at the spot you clue scroll tells you to. To find the spot, look at the coordinates the clue scroll gives you and then use a sextant, chart, and watch to be able to see the coordinates that you are standing on. It is complicated to find the coordinates of the place where you have to go, so i recommend looking at a treasure trail coordinated guide on runehq.com to be able to see the place to dig, it is very helpful.
