You have to spare the life of Idunna in the missing templar quest, she then sends a letter telling you about blood mage books hidden around kirkwall, 1 in the bone pit, 1 in sundermount (where you find the nexus golem) 1 in the wounded coast in a cave at the top right of the map, 1 in the viscounts keep and 1 in the chantry. If you choose to read or take the books you cant access the last one which is in darktown and every time you destroy one a host of demons will appear to kill you, Xenebeck appears with the fell grimoire in darktown whether you read, destroy or take it with you.

You Cant import your character from Dragon age Origins. You Play as a character named Hawke Throughout the game. So there is no way to get the strength you had on your old character. If there is importing it will most likely effect Hawke's world through the choices the Warden made.
