The common belief is that jack-o-lanterns originated in Ireland. The first jack-o-lanterns were carved out of turnips, potatoes and beets.
They made " Jack -o- lanters" because, a long time ago a lot of people gatherd and said " The pumpkin looks to plane" and all of them agreed, so they all started making design and they brang the designs to the master. And then the master saw this little girls design of a scary face and the master said 'Brillient!'' and since then they used pumkins for Halloween! :)
you find jack o lanterns deep in the forest in a cave
In the cave, far into the forest there is a tree, rather spooky with Jack o'lanterns hanging off of the branches.
Jack o laterns I think you mean, which are called "pumpkins" in Ireland they were used for soup, now as carvings on halloween. In recent times turnips were used for carving instead of pumpkins. Both are used for soup.
People can locate cheap jack o lantern stencils. People can go to familyfun.go.com/halloween/pumpkin-carving.../jack-o-lanterns/ to find these stencils.

Jack-O was created in 1995.
The "o" in Jack-o'-lantern is a shortened form of "of." So "Jack-o'-lantern" originally meant "Jack of the lantern," referencing a light source made from a carved pumpkin or turnip.
The duration of Jack-O is 1.47 hours.
