How do you go about doing the special Pokemon Events for HeartGold and SoulSilver?
Here's how to do the special events for Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. There's no need to unlock Mystery Gift because it's automatically unlocked once you get the PokéDex in both games. For in-store events, you need to go to the game menu where it says Continue, New Game, Connect to Pokéwalker, Mystery Gift, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings and Wii Message Settings. Select "Mystery Gift." Next select "Receive Gift" and then select "Get via Wireless" and select "Yes." It'll be searching for the gift for a few seconds and if there's a gift available then it'll find it and show it to you. It'll ask you if you want to get this event so select "Yes" and it'll download the event's Wonder Card into your game. Next head into any Poké Mart and talk to the guy in green and he'll give you the event that you had just gotten then make sure to save the game. After getting the event from the guy in green and saving the game, you can just delete the Wonder Card if you want. For events are all available via Nintendo Wi-Fi, you just select "Mystery Gift" then "Receive Gift" then "Get via Nintendo WFC" and select "Yes." It'll search for the event and if there's an event that was put on Nintendo's servers then it'll locate it and then it'll show you it and it'll ask you if you want to receive this gift. Select "Yes" and it'll download the event. Next head to any Poké Mart and talk to the guy in green. He'll give you the event. Next save the game. Now you can delete the related Wonder Card that is associated with this specific event if you want to because you can only have a maximum of 3 Wonder Cards at once.
