Hard to categorize, you should really try it out. You go around in a vast 3D world, interacting with other players and objects; there is fight, economy aspects, you have to train certain "skills", and you do quests (missions). You don't "win" the game, you just continue improving your game account.

You can play for free as long as you like, but paying members get additional benefits (a larger world, more quests, etc.). A paid membership costs 6-8 US$ a month, depending on the payment option chosen.
