Is this for a crossword puzzle answer? If so, my guess would be "nee", which is the word used when indicating a woman's maiden name (it comes from the French for "born".) You'll see it sometimes in society column wedding announcements when a family's lineage is worth noting, e.g. "Violet (nee Tock) and Lam Chik Shang's wedding." Hope that helps!
