This helps connect words with pictures.Join a literacy program; ask at the library for information about the local literacy program.Ask the librarian if they know any retired English teachers who tutor.Or if you pay money, you could:Hire a tutor.Take a formal class.

I have not read the Eragon books, but from the description of what you are looking for I would recommend either the ranger class or a multiclass character rogue/fighter. Hey ithis was probably awhile back eh? but i have just finished reading the Eragon books for like the 5th time and am an Avid Dnd player. My reccomendation would be to mulit class a ranger and rouge. first three levels in ranger and the next two in rouge, then take the prestigue class of DARKHUNTER. they're basically the black hand. though DARKHUNTERS only have a level progression of 5 that's why after you get the full 5 levels in DARKHUNTER you can start to relevel up you're rogue and ranger skills, personally i would go wiht more rogue skills after you've got he full 5 levls in DARKHUNTER. anyhwo don't know if that helps, but there ya go.
