The 40-volume Woordenboek der Nederlandsche Taal(Dictionary of the Dutch Language) - or 43 volumes if you include the recent supplements. It took about 150 years to produce.

Other large dictionaries include the 32-volume Deutsches Wörterbuch (German Dictionary), which took only 120 years or so to produce, and the Oxford English Dictionary, of which the original 12-volume edition took 68 years to create. The second edition of the OED is 20 volumes.

The largest bilingual dictionary is believed to be the four-volume Muret-Sanders German-English/English-German dictionary published by Langenscheidt. An abridged (two-volume) edition and other smaller abridgements are also available.
