The Secret_Trainer_ID is a hidden number for your trainer in the game.
You can't see it without hacking the game.
It is used to help tell which Pokemon belong to your trainer.
If Nintendo had just used the Trainer_ID for the game(0 to 65535),
there would be a lot of trainers with the same Trainer_ID.
Odds 1 in 65536 of two trainers having the same Trainer_ID.
So, trading Pokemon may think they are back with their trainer when they are not.
By having the Secret_Trainer_ID,
the odds of two trainers having
the same ID without hacking is 1 in 4,294,967,296.
====
A Pokemon has 80 bytes of data for the game.
When you encounter a Pokemon,
the Pokemon has a random Pokemon_ID generated.(4bytes)
The Pokemon_ID, Trainer_ID, and Secret_Trainer_ID are
used to encrypt the Pokemon's data.
By encrypting the ID's together,
it makes that Pokemon the Trainers.
So, you can traded the Pokemon around and a round.
If that Pokemon comes back to the same trainer,
The Trainer_ID and Secret_Trainer_ID will match and
the Pokemon will know it is it's original trainer.

The Pokemon Platinum ID code is CPUE-DO74D1B3. I am not sure if the O is a zero or a 0. So try both. sry =( Actually, the code above is the game ID needed to add codes to an Action Replay. the secret ID of your character can only be obtained using the secret ID cheat, and is needed to make your own pokesav codes when creating your team using pokesav.
To get the code, go to the website http://www.filb.de/games/gba/emerald/word.php. Then, type your Trainer ID and choose the box paper you want.

it's the id n# of your pkmn
there are only 336 Pokemon in emerald. there id number is there number. that number is your trainers number. check your trainer card.
Knowing it would be easy, so there's probably a code for that, but changing it would be problematic.
To get the code, go to the website http://www.filb.de/games/gba/emerald/word.php. Then, type your Trainer ID and choose the box paper you want.

On your Trainer Card.
The secret ID is a number that identifies you and all of your Pokemon, but it is not the number you can check on your trainer's card or on ony of your pokemons sumaries. The secret ID can be Found in several ways, It is used for RNG (Random Number Generator) Abuse, which, if done correctly, can help you easily obtain shiny and "perfect" Pokemon. If you have a shiny Pokemon captured in the wild (without chaining from the pokeradar, or obtaining it from an egg), then you can also calculate your SID
The secret ID is supposedly comprised of 5 undisplayeddigits of your trainer ID (meaning the ID is 10 digits long) and is presumably meant as an anti-cheating measure. However, it's been discovered and is an important piece of data to figure out in order to use certain cheating methods.
