The J is not a series letter, it is the code for the issuing Federal Reserve district. The series letter (if any) is located next to the date. If there is no series letter, or A through D, your bill is worth face value to $22. A dealer will pay face only. If the series letter is E, it could be worth $40 to $60.
"D" is the highest series letter for a 1934 $10 FRN. The series letter is next to the date. A "J" would most likely be a Federal Reserve District letter. Please see the Related Question for more information.

The next letter is D. The pattern is every fourth letter. Ie. a b c D e f g H i j k L m n o P and so on...
k comes next, and then l.
The series appears to be following a pattern where the letters are increasing in alphabetical order, skipping some letters. The pattern is A (skipping B) D (skipping E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N) O (skipping P) Q. Therefore, the next letter in the series should be R.
I think it's M.B is the second letter, C is the third, D is the 4th. The difference between these letters is one. D-G is 3 and G-J is 3 so I'd assume that the next letter is the third after J which is M.2-3-4-7-10-13
Please post a new question. You need to specify the bill's date and what letter is next to the date, not the letter next to the serial number.
