What is the best way for catching moltres in Pokemon Leaf Green?

the best way is to catch it is with a masterball. if you don't have one then get its HP low and get it paralyzed or asleep. don't poisen it or it will die if your attemps of catching it are unsucessful. then get it confused o your catch rate is higher. then throw some ultra balls and hope it workes.

first if u are a serious trainer, DO NOT USE UR MASTER BALL. there are better and harder to catch Pokemon in this game(like lugia, ho-oh, mewtwo, mew, lugia, deoxys,etc).

First u should have the three island pass. the required HMs to get to moltres are STRENGTH, ROCK SMASH and SURF.

good Pokemon to bring along are snorlax(or any Pokemon that knows a attack that puts Pokemon to sleep. sleep powder, hynosis, sing, yawn, etc) and marowak or scyther or any Pokemon that knows false swipe.

Have at least 20 ultra balls, 15 great balls and 5 timer balls.

Go to First Island. Surf to mount ember(north). look at the map if u need help (found in PCs).

Climb and battle ur way up mount ember and u will see moltres at the very top. DO NOT CHALLENGE IT YET.SAVE, IN CASE U ACCIDENTALLY FAINT IT!!!

after u have saved, either:

use a reasonably strong attack by a lower level Pokemon than moltres (lvl 50 or under) then use false swipe a few times. after it's hp is down to one, use sleep powder, hynosis, sing or yawn. note: do not poison moltres or confuse it. press AB continuously (this raises the catch rate of most poke balls) as u throw the ultra ball(NOT MASTER BALL!) this will take a few tries but u will get it eventaully.

or,

use a weak attack many times, or attacks that lower foes attack, or put it to sleep and paralyse it for a long time and wakes up again, then use false swipe and a sleep attack. Now, use timer ball. the battle should have, by now, lasted at least 10 turns. press AB continuously the moment u throw the ball. this increases catch rate. u may have to try a few times, but good luck.

Go to Mt ember and u will see moltres save the game and then battle it. use a few attacks to weaken it(so the hp bar is red). then throw a ultra ball or a great ball and every time the ballbounces press 'B' and then when it moves from side to side click the directional pad and click which way the ball moves. this turns the ball into a master ball and u will have caught moltres.
