there is no best team. It helps to have a deep team of a fire, grass, water, thunder, physic, dark. you can also switch out with fighting, rock, ground, dragon, flying, normal, ghost, ice and all other types. It also helps to use Pokemon that have been trained from very early levels. the strongest Pokemon according to Base Stats are Arceus, then Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, and giratina are all tied for second. Overall I would suggest picking your six favorite Pokemon and making that your team

no number of stats or moves will make any Pokemon "better" than another. there is no best team. I find that great teams come out of just playing through the game and picking up Pokemon as they come. For example, in my Firered version, I spent almost no time picking and choosing out Pokemon for a team. I simply started with my Squirtle, and over time collected a Metagross, Dragonite, Entei, Venusaur, and Rayquaza. Okay, so few of those are naturally obtained in Firered. Big deal. The point is, the key to getting a team that will win every time is just finding one that works and STICKING WITH IT.
