The berry glitch is a glitch that occurred in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire after the game had been played for 100 hours or owned for a year. It stops the game from keeping track of time-based events such as the growth of berries and sales in stores so it will always stay the same time of day meaning some Pokémon can't be caught and items may not be given out but the game can still be saved. The glitch can be fixed through various patches that have been included with the pre-order bonus disc for pre-ordering Pokémon Colosseum, a patch has also been included with the Pokémon games of Pokémon FireRed, Pokémon LeafGreen, Pokémon Emerald, Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness. Linking Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire for trading or battling purposes with Colosseum or XD Gale of Darkness will automatically download the patch.
