Only the original PS3 models came with a memory card slot, newer models can be extended via the USB port with a PS3 compatable card reader module.
There are no controller "slots" on the PS3. All of the controllers are wireless and are automatically mapped to which "slot" it is in depending on order of controller activation. To plug the controllers into a "slot" you could plug them into the USB ports, but this is not necessary unless you are charging your controller.

If you are trying to put it onto the ps3 system, you slide it into the slot on the front of the machine. If you're talking about putting it into the ps2 or playstation system, you can't.
