It actually depends on what pokemon you are using and what level. But if both pokemon are the same level then hyper beam attacks first most of the time and giga impact is slower. And Hyper Beam is a much cooler move to see considering that it is a colorful mix of many shiny and amusing good mood colors. And giga impact is just a plain hit with a big hit like symbol.(giga impact is thumbs down an hyper beam is thumbs up.) So there you have it.
