Ferret.
Ferrets do not yap. Ferrets can squeak, and ferrets can dook. Dooking usually means a happy ferret, squeaking or squealing can mean pain, fear, or all manner of things.
When playing, ferrets may may make a slight clucking noise, often referred to as 'dooking'. They may also have their bark acrhed and be jumping around, sometimes performing a weasel war dance. The war dance usually follows play or the successful capture of a toy or a stolen object. It consists of a frenzied series of sideways and backwards hops, often accompanied by an arched back, dooking or hissing noises, and a frizzy tail. Ferrets rarely attack, and when frightened, may latch on your hand or another piece of skin AND WILL NOT LET GO. Usually this will draw blood. To escape this, you can grab a ferrets scruff [ loose hair on top of the neck ] and draw slightly backwards, careful not to harm your fuzzy.
Yes. It is commonly called "bottle brush tail" as it resembles a bottle brush. When a ferret has a puffed up tail he/she is either very excited or scared. If the tail is puffed up and the ferret is backing away /hissing it is scared and should be left alone. If the tail is puffed up and the ferret is dooking he/she is happy
some noises, like a squeaking noise, can trigger a ferrets natural instinct to hunt.
When a ferret is healthy, well taken care of and happy, he will do a dance of joy. This is usually done when let out of their cage for playtime as they have plenty of energy to expend. It's basically the ferret jumping back and forth, side to side, not paying attention to where they are going sometimes colliding into a wall or furniture, but they keep on going. and the same time some ferrets make a "dooking' noise. They are excited and ready to play
